Our Favorite Black Owned Small Businesses to Shop + Support
•Posted on June 17 2021

On June 19, 1865, soldiers landed in Galveston, Texas and were given the news that the Civil War had ended and that the enslaved were all finally free. June 19th, Juneteenth, a day we celebrate freedom, freedom for ALL, but its also a day to remember the commitment we have to creating a more hopeful future where all hopes, dreams and lives matter.
I encourage you, not only this week, but each week, to continue to support black owned small businesses and would love to share some of my favorites with you.
KID + BABY
HARPAR IMAN
Harpar Iman is a mother/daughter duo team that noticed dolls of color were underrepresented and worked hard to find a solution. "We are committed to making dolls of color that represent the type of dolls that we wished we had and dolls of color that we needed growing up. We are dedicated to creating dolls that reinforce to children of color how important they are, how smart they are, how beautiful they are, how talented the are and how creative they are." You'l have to have some fast fingers for these beauties as they sell out fast, and it's pretty obvious why...they are gorgeous!
LITTLE LIKES KIDS
Created by a loving momma, who found that her kiddo, Henry and his world and friends were not represented in the toys she was finding. And then Little Likes Kids was born.
"As a mother, my job is to love, and sharing toys that include images and experiences that reflect my son is a way for me to show him he is loved. That I can’t fill his toy box and bookshelves with an appropriate mix of inclusive items is a lost opportunity for joy."
Little Likes Kids offers a wide variety of beautifully illustrated toys. We have a few of these amazing products at our house and they are also incredible quality. From puzzles to games to playing cards, you can find so many options to fit your birthday, holiday and any gifting needs.
BUDDHA BABE
Buddha Babe is a Philadelphia-based luxury design studio focusing on accessories for babies, toddlers and the home. They also opened up a retail and event space in 2020 where you can shop ALL the baby goods. We have carried this brand at Wild & Precious before and let me tell you...it is beautiful, stylish, soft and comfy!

COSMETICS + ACCESSORIES
BEAUTY BAKERIE

I cannot say enough great things about the products from BB. I own several of them and they are some of my most used, favorite items. Not only does Cashmere, the owner, and her team provide amazing cruelty-free, safe, healthy products but they are committed to uplifting, educating and giving back. Here are some of my favorite products : Matte Lip Whip, Metalic Lip Whip, and Eyeshadow Palette. Happy browsing and shopping!
THE TINY TASSEL
A fellow creative outlet turned small business here. Mimi and her collections are just gorgeous. Trying to get my hands on some of these vibrant, fun pieces for the shop top, but ya know what's even better - just shopping from the Tiny Tassel directly. The Tiny Tassel carried jewelry that will make anyone feel beautiful and fun - snag a pair of earrings, necklace, or a bracelet! She even has some clothing! Click the photo to shop.
HOME GOODS
Bronzeville Collective MKE
For all you local friends, give Bronzeville Collective some love! Not local? Good news, you can shop all their goodies online. The four beauties behind the biz have created a space that feature over 25 different local brands - of which, almost all, is designed or handcrafted by black and brown creative individuals. NATURAL ANNIE ESSENTIALS
What a beautiful story and AMAZING products. These candles are non-toxic, made with love, smell amazing and are all hand poured. They are scented with oil blends that are 100% vegan, 100% eco-friendly, and 100% recyclable. The oils are never diluted, so each has a strong concentrated aroma that doesn't disappear when burned in a candle. Plus they have an amazing, fun vibe. Click the name or photo to shop and make sure to read more about how this woman got started with this biz! I think it's time to bring some of these goodies into the W&P shop too!
SAVED BY GRACE CO
Reading Whitney's story and testimony literally brought me to tears. Her mission - help customers see God through her products. She offers a wide variety of items from graphic tees to sweatshirts to home goods to tote bags and more. I've considered carrying her products many times...maybe it's time :) In the meantime though, definitely go give her site a visit and don't forget to follow and like on social media.
APPAREL
LEA BEE BOUTIQUE

Well, friends, not only does Lea Bee Boutique have an amazing selection of clothing, accessories and home goods, she is also an incredible person. I've had the pleasure of working with A'Leah on a few things and she is always so sweet and kind. Please, friends, go and check out Lea Bee and continue to follow her and her business.
CHUNKY ARMADILLO
The style and fun behind Melanie and her brand is unlike any other. You will find the most unique, boho, gypsy style at Chunky Armadillo. A few years ago I invested in a membership into a group of boutique owning bosses, and it's been so fun to follow some of the fellow boutique owners such as Melanie and A'Leah. Check out the website and make sure to follow and like them on Facebook as well.
HONEY'S CHILD BOUTIQUE
Honey's Child Boutique offers unique, fashion-forward pieces created by some of today’s most renown Plus-Size designers and brands. Each item is hand selected by the owner, Letitia Young, to ensure that only the highest in quality and fashion is represented. Such amazing pieces available from this hard working lady!
