Get to Know Wild & Precious’s New Home in Downtown Grafton
•Posted on August 29 2020
Pinch me! It’s still hard to believe my dream of building a physical storefront for Wild & Precious has finally come to life. Located in the heart of Grafton, on Wisconsin Ave, you can find my sweet, welcoming boutique — home to your favorite home decor designs, fashions and gifts.
Wild & Precious Boutique’s new home is in a family-friendly, walkable area of Grafton. While parking on Wisconsin Ave in front of the shop may not always be available, there is plenty of parking available on 11th Ave, directly behind our location.
If you haven’t visited in person yet, I’d love to invite you to do so! Apart from Wild & Precious, there are so many great Grafton locales in the area. I’ve rounded up some of my favorites below and hope you’ll add them to your itinerary when stopping by Wild & Precious.
Coffee & Snacks
If you need a coffee to start your day or a cup o’ Joe as an afternoon pick-me-up, there is no shortage of coffee shops in the area. Our nearest neighbors are NSeven Coffee and Fiddleheads Coffee. NSeven includes a food menu that is served all day as well as espresso, tea and coffee. Take it to go, or head outside to their semi-covered patio area which has an array of different seating options. Meanwhile, Fiddleheads Coffee is known for their signature coffee blends and house sandwiches. They also have an outdoor patio if you’d prefer to sit outside.
Take a stroll east on Bridge Street after visiting Wild & Precious and you’ll find yourself at the Grafton Arts Mill. Inside is AM Coffee, one of Cedarburg Coffee Roastery’s two locations. Get a coffee to go and take a walk along the Milwaukee River, as a riverwalk was recently added!
A quick two block walk from W&P is Colectivo Coffee, a Wisconsin favorite! All of their coffees are roasted by hand in Milwaukee’s Riverwest neighborhood and their sweet treats and breads are baked daily at their own Troubadour Bakery.
Neighboring Colectivo is Sweettrio, a local artisan chocolate shop. Best known for their chocolate covered apples, you’ll find everything from chocolate covered marshmallows to gelato here. I’m proud to also offer a few of their chocolate covered treats for sale at Wild & Precious — they help make my new shop that much sweeter!
Sit Down Eats
If you’re headed out to visit the shop around lunch or dinner time, why not add an extra stop and visit one of the delicious restaurants located nearby? John’s Pizzaria of Grafton is just across the street from W&P. Pasta, soup, sandwiches and of course pizza are all on the menu. You can even order carryout and then head over to Sahale Ale Works, located just behind John’s, and pair your pizza with a freshly tapped beer. If you’re bringing the kiddos along or are a non-drinker, they also offer sparkling lemonade and maple root beer. Eat your meal outside on the Lumberyard Plaza patio to soak up the last of the summer rays.
In the mood for some barbecue? Across the way off of Paramount Plaza, is Atlas BBQ. They’re known for their sauces, where their index ranges from “Fun for Everyone,” to X-rated. Be sure to get a side of Atlas fries when dining in or carrying out — they’re some of the best fries around!
Another outdoor dining hotspot is Lobo’s Place, an authentic Mexican restaurant, located a few short steps away from W&P. They serve up tacos, burritos, enchiladas and of course, frozen margaritas!
Relax or Play
If you’ve brought the kiddos along, be sure to reward them for shopping with you by taking them to the park to let out some energy. Veterans Memorial Park is just north of W&P and borders the Milwaukee River. Their large playground and basketball court can keep the kids busy while you relax in the shade. Or, bring the fishing poles along and see what you all can catch in the river!
